God answers prayers in three ways:
1. Yes
2. Not now
3. I have something better in mind
These are hard things to take when you want something immediately. Every lessoned learned is done the hard way. I know from experience the anxiety of God choosing to tell me "Not now" or "I have something better in mind". This past summer was rough for me.
Things had occurred in my life that I was not happy about. I spent many nights in tears, praying God would change what had happened. After several months, I realized the answer was not going to be "Yes". I was expecting it to be "Not now" though. I just knew that God would turn the situation around and things would be right again...
That was not the case. God had something way better in mind for me. I still pray for the situation from this summer, but not in the same way that I used to. I know now that God used that time in my life for me to grow spiritually and to trust Him with everything in me. Because I trusted him, God blessed me with the most amazing person in my life.
"Eye hath not seen, not ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which Hod hath prepared for hem that love Him" -1 Corinthians 2:9
